Esquel continues to push boundaries in the areas of technology and innovations. Guangdong Esquel Textiles (GET) has recently been bestowed with the title "Demonstration Enterprises of National Technology Innovation" by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Finance of the PRC, among a list of 80 enterprises across the country in 2013.

GET is the only enterprise in Foshan as well as the textile apparel sector in Guangdong Province to be included in the list. Esquel has extensive partnerships with the world’s leading research institutes, growing in strength by developing a strong pool of professionals as well as new technologies and systems to improve management and processes in every part of our supply chain. Esquel possesses more than 240 patents among which 141 have been granted by the government, bolstering its position as a leading innovator in the industry.

To be qualified for this title, enterprises have to go through a series of stringent assessment every 3 years against a set of criteria including the R&D spending and the number of patents and personnel.

Esquel Hosts the 9th Textile Manufacturing Forum

The 9th Esquel Textile Manufacturing Forum was held in Gaoming on Oct. 21-22, attended by more than 50 representatives from the world’s leading suppliers of textile machineries, chemical and bio-innovative solutions, together with Esquel’s colleagues and consultants.

 

With “Sustainable Textiles” as the theme of this event, the participants presented the latest developments in their respective fields, exchanged ideas on implementing green practices and addressed current technical issues in the textile industry.

 

In her welcoming speech, Vice Chairman Teresa Yang was pleased to see the concerted efforts across the Group as well as the industry on promoting sustainable production. Attaching great importance to Exploration and Environment among our corporate values, she remarked that only by advancing sustainability practices such as adopting technologies and innovations will we be able to boost productivity and hence sustain our growth in the long run.

 

Zhang Yugao, Group Director of Research and Development, also shared with the audience the latest market situation and encouraged everyone to take a bold and pioneering approach on developing innovative green products. Cheng Peng, General Manager (Knittting) also underscored the importance of  learning from The 2013 Esquel Sustainability Symposium earlier this year and also Esquel’s journey of sustainable development.

 

The forum concluded with a great success, with every participant looking forward to getting together again in 2014.
